YOU KNOW WHERE
I'm retiring this blog. Thanks to my readers, regular and irregular (a lot of you were irregular and wound up here after googling Dannon Activa Yogurt, a product I reviewed in a past entry). To the latter, I hope you feel better. To the former, au revoir.
I'm ending on a high note, which is this: the author Jay McInerney, whose novel Bright Lights, Big City I read at WAY TOO YOUNG AN AGE (what nine year old needs to know that in 1984 the Cool Kids called cocaine Bolivian Marching Powder?), linked to my blog in his most recent House & Garden Blog.
!!!
This is a small thing, but I just found out and I'm crying because it feels like something. I am obsessed with something, that feeling that I am always writing for, eating for, living for. The surprise, the ephemeral something, the unexpected experience that makes me feel connected and Here.
I am Here and I wrote things here and an author found me over here and read me and then connected me to his readers over where he is so that they might find me over here and read me. It's a small thing, it is nothing. It is something, it is everything. I am Here! Thank you for finding me!
You know where to put it,
Megan

congrats on a good run meg!
Wait a minute! You're quitting now?? NO!
I mean, would it help if I bought you some food?
Have you ever seen/read "The Devil Wears Prada" aka the story with the worst ending ever because when she's just going to get what she set out to get and enjoy it she makes a hasty decision and fucks up royaly, making all of the pulling for her that we did seem like wasted energy because in the end she's an idiot you rather not root for.
YOU'RE not an idiot! Don't do it! We'll never mention this post again!
booooooo! you put it in YOUR mouth!
maybe a new blog ? ? ? the rumor mill's churning! ("what's next for neurge???????")
NOW what am I supposed to read at work to fill my time??? Geez.
Tony Powell, you are really cute and rather frisky looking. Not that it makes up for the fact that Megan is stopping her blog. NOTHING WILL. Megan, please reconsider!!!
I cannot figure out where he linked to you...
I hate to hear that, tho I am often ashamed at comments I made to you long ago when I first discovered your blog. Your writing had such magnificent power with built in depth of meanings, you made the mundane Spiritual, and I felt that I interfered with that, perhaps I am just being self-centered, probably so. You should always be yourself and not worry what others think, even this famous dude who linked to you, you have an original and high level talent, will miss your banter. Pardon my intrusion, I apologize.
I will now have to ask you in person where to eat. I've loved this blog!
Megan,
I discovered your blog a short while ago, after it was "disbanded" and though I enjoyed (and getting engrossed with) your posts all at once, like a novel!, I am sad that you are no longer writing it.
I linked to you on my new blog www.fivefingerfeast.wordpress.com re: beef jerky. Hope you get a chance to check it out.
Thanks for the inspiration! I can not wait until your first book/movie/tvshow comes out. Let me know. You are an amazing writer.
Anita
I just googled Megan Nueringer and searched for you on Google, as soon as I saw you, I said, "Thats her" so I googled you, read your blog, after the first one I said, That's her".
I go though the same thing everyday
"theres something out there that I should be finding, sometimes I stand in my front yard late at night and just look, look around, something is trying to give me the answer, but I'm not seeing it, but I know it's there, I am also a creative person, I do ad layouts and design logos. I'm going to keep this short, 'cause if I'm right, I think I'm in the process of finding my something, that edge, that thing thats going to say, I got it, This is why, and if I'm right so are you, when your ready to talk about it (or IM, lol) you can always find me at: ktstriker@yahoo.com subject line please Megan Neuringer

@Anonymous: I don't have a gay bone in my body (except for that one unfortunate time, as a freshman in college, when I was REALLY drunk), but I must agree with you - Tony is quite cute! (Not in a gay way, though.)
Sweet blog! I found it while searching on Yahoo News. Do you have any tips on how to get listed in Yahoo News? I've been trying for a while but I never seem to get there! Thanks
